Research

The research activities are focused in the following sub-areas of polymer science:

  • Functional block copolymer nanocarriers for controlled delivery of hydrophobic bioactive substances and biomolecules;

  • Super-macroporous polymer cryogels from natural, thermo- and pH-sensitive polymers for topical anti-cancer therapy and tissue engineering;

  • Conjugated polymers and active polymer films for organic solar cells;

  • Polymer-inorganic hybrid nanoparticles and nanocomposites.

  • Fluorogenic Nanostructured Biocompatible Polymer Materials for Nucleic acids Analysis-PolyFluorNA - Bulgarian Science Fund

  • Modification of conventional niosomes with Ph-sensitive copolymers - Joint research project with the Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials, Polish Academy of Sciences

  • Tissue regenerating product design: Can different nano-systems effect wound healing?- Joint research project with Ege University, Türkiye 

  • Synthesis of biocompatible cryogels via photochemical crosslinking - budgetary subsidy
